AVALON is a true world explorer in every sense of the word. Built by Cheoy Lee in 2012 as a 46-metre Marco Polo 151, she was conceived around the principles of commercial shipbuilding: exceptional range, efficiency, redundancy and the ability to remain self-sufficient far from conventional yachting infrastructure.

Having genuinely travelled the world, AVALON offers something few explorer yachts can claim: proven capability. Her cruising history includes the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Australia, Alaska, the Atlantic and vast areas of the Pacific.

Owners have also spent extended periods of up to six to eight months continuously aboard, demonstrating her exceptional suitability for long-term living and autonomous cruising.

Her approximately 6,600 nautical mile range is achieved through an exceptionally efficient single-engine Caterpillar 3512B propulsion concept developed by renowned naval architect Ron Holland. The system incorporates a variable-pitch propeller and shaft housed in an oil bath. Unique for a yacht of this type, a second forward machinery space with an integrated Schottel drive and separate fuel cell provides an additional level of redundancy, maneuverability and operational independence.

AVALON has now undergone a transformative 2025/26 refit, substantially renewing both her technical systems and visual presentation. The hull and entire superstructure have been repainted in Flag Blue with Jet Black window bands, giving her a striking, contemporary explorer profile. Major works include the top-end overhaul of all three generators, a rebuilt galley with new flooring and counters, new multiplex awning system, rebuilt swim platform and new lighting system. She is currently completing her 15-year Lloyd’s class survey, with teak to be replaced on the maindeck and sundeck and sanding as well as recaulcing on the upper this winter. Upon completion, her owners have invested more than €3 Million and AVALON will be exceptionally well positioned for her next chapter and ready for immediate cruising.

Her interior combines Macassar ebony veneer, walnut flooring and light fabric accents, with an intelligent layout designed for genuine long-term livability. The full-beam Owner’s suite occupies the aft bridge deck, while four additional guest cabins provide accommodation for up to ten guests. A dedicated cinema, lower-deck gym and multifunctional salon with central staircase further distinguish the layout. In total she is capable of welcoming up to 11 guests across 5 staterooms, including a convertable gaming cabin with murphy bed, two double and a twin cabin.

The expedition character continues on deck. Her substantial foredeck incorporates a 2.5-tonne Nautical Structure crane and two hydraulically hinged storage hatches designed for tenders, jet skis and extensive water-toy equipment.

Combined with her proven seakeeping, enormous storage capacity, long-range efficiency and commercial-inspired engineering, AVALON represents a rare opportunity to acquire an explorer yacht that has actually travelled the world and is now comprehensively renewed and prepared for her next voyage.
