How I got here

Yannick's path to yachting began far from the water. After completing a trade apprenticeship, he served three and a half years in the German armed forces as a paratrooper in a special operations unit — an experience that instilled the discipline, composure under pressure, and attention to detail he brings to every transaction today. He then returned to the private sector, working in his father's family printing business.
 

It was a personal introduction that shaped the next chapter of his career, giving Yannick the opportunity to meet and learn directly from Albert Drettmann, one of the leading figures in the yacht brokerage industry. He joined Drettmann Yachts in 2021, and within his first three years in the industry had already managed a transaction volume exceeding €100 million.
 

Starting as Head of Sales, Yannick built his reputation on a client-oriented, fact-based approach — grounded in in-depth market knowledge and a strong work ethic to position buyers and sellers precisely where the market meets their interests. That approach has translated into a loyal clientele that continues to place its trust in him deal after deal. After two years in this role, he was appointed Managing Partner, taking on a central part in shaping the company's growth.
 

Since then, Yannick has played a key role in Drettmann's expansion, with new offices opening in Dubai and Mallorca. The firm's headquarters remain in Bremen, where Yannick lives and where he leads the company's core brokerage business.
