Ready for the Baltic sea

Drettmann Yachts moved several yachts from the Mediterranean to Germany. After a refit in Bremen, some already started their summer cruises on the Baltic Sea.

Germany is currently a trend destination among Germans. Many accommodations, especially on the coast, are already fully booked for this summer.

Several customers of Drettmann Yachts are also exchanging their crusing grounds in Croatia and Mallorca with the German Baltic Sea and the Netherlands this year - although they naturally have their accommodation – i.e. their yachts. Claudia Drettmann explains the development as follows: "Even before the corona restrictions came into effect, we were already receiving requests from these customers for smaller and larger refit work. When it then became foreseeable that borders would be closed, we moved the yachts under high pressure from their moorings to Germany".

Especially for two Elegance yachts, 60 and 64 feet long, it was a last-minute action, where the support of the rescue service "Sea Help" had to be called upon to tow the yachts out of Punat. Finally, a transport freighter took the yachts to Bremerhaven before they drove the last leg of the journey up the Weser river on their own keel.

The preparation of the overall six yachts from Croatia and Mallorca took place at the Bremen headquarters of Drettmann Yachts. Not only the capacities with its own quay and crane are ideal for this, but also the design competence of Claudia Drettmann. She has already designed the interiors of numerous new builds; an in-house showroom is also a much-used source of inspiration for Drettmann customers. "Sometimes we only provide support in the selection of a few new cushions, sometimes we redesign all surfaces", Claudia Drettmann explains the requirements.

In addition to the possibility of carrying out refits in-house, Drettmann Yachts is also increasingly establishing itself as a so-called "one-stop shop" for owners and those who want to become one. In addition to the portfolios of Gulf Craft and Bavaria, the Bremen yacht experts also list some yachts from Benetti, Moonen, Admiral or Sunseeker. Albert Drettmann says: "Customers come to us above all because they appreciate the extremely committed and competent advice we provide. At the same time, we are known for our ability to continue to support owners after the purchase and for the fact that they can really contact us with any request. Therefore, it is obvious for us to cooperate with many different shipyards and brands in order to recommend to our customers the right yacht for them".
