Everything you need to know about chartering
Chartering a yacht should be effortless from the very first enquiry, and with the right guidance, it is. A charter is one of the finest ways to enjoy everything a yacht offers, without the commitment of ownership. This guide walks through how it works, from first enquiry to stepping ashore, and explains the terms and details along the way, so whether it's your first charter or your tenth, you'll know exactly what to expect.

01
The first conversation
Every charter begins with understanding you: your group, the kind of trip you have in mind, and the destinations you'd like to explore. We take the time to learn how you want to travel, then translate all of it into a considered shortlist of yachts that genuinely suit the occasion, rather than a generic list of what's available.
02
Choosing your yacht
We'll guide you on the things that matter most for a first charter: the right size for your group, the layout that suits how you like to travel, and the crew style that fits, from relaxed and informal to more formal service. There's no wrong question, and we'll talk you through every option with honest, independent advice.
03
Planning your itinerary
Together we shape a bespoke route around your interests, the season and what each destination does best, whether quiet anchorages, lively harbours or a blend of both. Your captain and crew know these waters intimately, and their local knowledge shapes a final itinerary designed entirely around you.
04
Booking and paperwork
We handle the charter agreement and explain every term clearly before anything is signed, so nothing comes as a surprise. Most charters are arranged under an industry-standard MYBA contract, which sets out precisely what's included, and we're on hand to answer any question along the way.
05
Before you board
You'll complete a preference sheet covering everything from food, drink and dietary requirements to the activities you'd enjoy and any occasions you're celebrating. The crew use it to have every detail ready and personal to you before you arrive, so your yacht feels yours from the moment you step aboard.
06
Onboard
From the moment you arrive, everything is taken care of. The captain manages the route while the crew look after every detail, leaving you free to do as much or as little as you please. It's yachting at its most effortless, exactly as it should be.
07
Stepping ashore
At the end of your charter, any remaining running-cost balance is reconciled and settled with complete transparency. And should the experience leave you thinking about chartering again, or even ownership, we're always glad to continue the conversation.
