NORTHERN SUN is a 50.90-metre expedition yacht built by Narasaki Zosen in Japan in 1976 and extensively converted into a luxury yacht. The vessel features a steel hull and steel superstructure and offers substantial internal volume with a gross tonnage of 703 GT and a displacement of approximately 930 tons.

Designed for long-range cruising, NORTHERN SUN offers a range of approximately 10,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10.5 knots. Maximum speed is around 13 knots, powered by two Yanmar 6G-UT engines producing 900 HP each. Fuel capacity is approximately 175,000 litres and freshwater capacity 65,000 litres, supporting extended voyages.

Accommodation is provided for up to 12 guests in six cabins, with a crew of 13 operating the vessel. Guest areas include a large main saloon, formal dining area, multiple exterior deck spaces and a spacious sun deck.

The yacht carries two tenders including an 8-metre RIB with 300 HP outboard and a 23-foot RIB. A wide range of water toys and diving equipment is stored on board, supported by dedicated dive facilities including compressors and equipment lockers.

NORTHERN SUN has undergone continuous upgrades and maintenance, including significant refit works in recent years. Major works include engine overhauls, class surveys, hull repainting, deck maintenance and upgrades to navigation and onboard systems. The yacht is classed with RINA and currently operates in Southeast Asia.
